Hi! I’m FIRECracker, a computer engineer/children’s author, and I used to live in one of the most expensive cities in Canada.
Like my fellow Millennials, I was desperate to make my parents proud by buying a house, working a practical job, and retiring at 65. But with housing prices through the roof, job stability flying out the window, and my health plummeting into the basement, following the Boomer’s dream didn’t make a whole lot of sense.
So I looked around for another solution. And what my husband and I found–or rather stumbled into–has completely changed our lives.
Now we live….all over the world! And instead of a job I hate, I work on projects I’m passionate about–like making apps for non-profits and teaching girls how to code.
How did we accomplish this?
By building a 7-figure portfolio and living off the passive income. This has allowed us to retire in our 30s, travel the world, and do what we love!
I started this blog to share what we learned about money and investing, so you don’t need to spend YEARS, like we did, learning it from scratch.
We’re not geniuses. We didn’t inherit any money, start the next Facebook, or win big with a hot stock.
What we did is reproducible by anyone and we’re going to show you how.
Want to know how we built our 7-figure portfolio?
I chronicle our journey here.

The Wanderer retired from his engineering job at a major Silicon Valley semiconductor company at the age of 33. He now travels the world, seeking out knowledge from other wealthy people, so that he can teach people how to become Financially Independent themselves.
