Why I Love my FI Blogger Peeps

Hey all,

We are just wrapping up our Chautauqua experience here in the UK and I have to say even we are blown away by how awesome it’s been. We’ll be writing a longer, more in-depth article about our experience in the near future, but I have to say so far that the coolest and most memorable part of it by far was just meeting all these mythological FI bloggers (and authors) in real life and finding out they’re just as awesome in real life as I thought.

Vicki Robin, author of Your Money or Your Life turned out to be this larger than life character with a wicked laugh.

The MadFientist, seen here “dressing up.” He actually had a load of groupie super-fans arrive all sporting MadFientist t-shirts. What a rock star.

And of course, THE Godfather, Jim Collins, seen here living up to his Boomer status and unable to figure out his audio guide during our group tour of Windsor Castle.

Anyway, longer write up will be coming in a bit, since there’s still so much going on every day here, so back to eating Spotted Dick I go! (tee hee)

  1. I actually ran into Vicki Robin on a day trip to the south end of the island that I live on. I had a total fangirl moment and of course said hello (to the total embarrassment of my husband). She was kind and encouragingโ€”a wonderful person! Here’s hoping I run into more FI trailblazers in the wild…

  2. This living vicariously through you guys is (to date) been great motivation for me to stay on the FI train. Thanks for all your inspirational as well as the educational posts!! โค๏ธ?

  3. This is awesome! Cant wait to do this ourselves. And we’re just hoping we get a chance to meet you guys hopefully in the cross over between weeks 1 and 2 in Ecuador.

    1. That would be cool! I’m so excited for you guys to go to Chautauqua! They are seriously the best things ever.

  4. Wish we could have made it this year, but one of these days we’ll have to find a way to cross paths. Got to meet the Mad Fientist this summer and did have to repress my inner fan boy…

    And love you guys, too.
