FIRECracker is Canada's youngest retiree. She used to live in one of the most expensive cities in Canada, but instead of drowning in debt, she rejected home ownership. What resulted was a 7-figure portfolio, which has allowed her and her husband to retire at 31 and travel the world. Their story has been featured on CBC, the Huffington Post, CNBC, BNN, Business Insider, and Yahoo Finance. To date, it is the most shared story in CBC history and their viral video on CBC's On the Money has garnered 4.5 Million views.

Now, I know this is outside our normal scheduled program, but I just had to share this.

  1. Interesting. I will check this out.

On a different note. I just received the following offer from Bank of America in the email:

    —-
Get a $300 bonus when you:

    (1) Open a new Bank of America Core Checking® OR Bank of America Interest Checking® account by April 15, 2017.

    (2) Then, set up Direct Deposit. Set up and receive qualifying direct deposits totaling $4,000 or more within 90 days of opening your new checking account.

I wonder if I should do this. I certainly could use this $300 to fund my future airfare to Kuala Lumpur. I wonder if opening another bank account would dent my credit score.

    1. I’d read to make sure there aren’t any hidden fees but it sounds like a good deal.

And extra bank accounts shouldn’t affect your credit score. Even with extra credit cards (we had 10 each for travel hacking), it barely affected our credit scores at all (went down from 830 to 820 and then back up after 6 months.)

  2. Hi there,

Just wondering, when will we receive the free pass?
I have registered a few times ( I did it the first time a few weeks ago) but haven’t received anything yet.

I just wanna make sure I don’t miss this =)

    1. “Once you claim your free ticket, you’ll receive a several email reminders in your inbox every day of the event giving you access to all of the live masterclasses, live panels and pre-recorded sessions as they happen. Simply login & follow the easy instructions we give. You’ll be able to view the live sessions on any computer, tablet or mobile device.”

Maybe it is in your junk mail folder?

  3. So happy for you and wanderer!
Work takes me to Singapore next week, so cannot attend. One day – someday. Also, heard the food was okay in Singapore?
Trust that you will knock it out or the park as you always do.

    1. Actually, it’s an online conference, so feel free to watch from your hotel in Singapore if you like 🙂

And yes, the food in Singapore is amazing! If you get a chance, go to the Old Airport Road Food Center. It’s one of our favourite food hawker stalls.
